About Counselling and Psychotherapy

What is counselling and psychotherapy?

Counselling is the practice of exploring areas in your life that might currently be causing you difficulty or upset. Psychotherapy is a deeper process of looking at past events or relationships that may be affecting your present life that you would like to understand or address, so that you can make fulfilling choices in the present and future.

My Humanistic Integrative framework enables me to draw from a variety of different approaches to support your unique needs. This model also allows me to be with you in a compassionate, empathic, relational way.

How does counselling and psychotherapy work?

Appointments normally take place on a weekly basis at a pre-arranged time and day. We can meet face to face at my premises in West Cork and I can offer either telephone or on-line counselling if this feels more comfortable. Please get in touch to find out more.

Who do you work with?

I can work with any individual age 13 years and over.

Please note that I am not qualified to work with addiction or eating disorders.  I am also unable to provide mental health diagnosis. For these concerns I would recommend linking in with your GP to discuss a specialist referral.
